Holy Angels Catholic Church wanted to take advantage of modern technology and replace an old EAW DX810 Mixer. They faced the extra challenge of narrowing down presets to accommodate their church services while staying cost effective.
By replacing their old mixer with a new digital audio processor/auto-mixer, we were able to expand the capabilities of their sound system while making it even simpler to use.
Holy Angels previous sound system had limited resources to accommodate the audio needs of the client. Their old mixer did not have the ability to automatically respond to common sound problems such as room resonance, frequency build-ups, delay zones, and feedback.
The BSS audio processor was the best option for this specific job because of its versatility and functionality. It handled all of the audio processing, allowing us to deal with the variety of analog signals such as different types of microphones and musical instruments.
It’s internal processing provided the perfect solution for the challenges dealing with feedback, room EQ, zone delays and more. We utilized the internal tuning instruments of the BSS in conjunction with the processors to achieve a natural/transparent sound.
The EC-4bv controller was a great addition to the BSS because it provided the client with easy control and access to specific presets and volume. With just one CAT 5 cable and a Mid-span POE Switch we were able to power on the EC-4bv and have both devices in communication which allowed the client access to presets for their multiple church services.
The Harman BSS DSP Audio Processor in conjunction with the EC-4bv Controller provided the flexibility to meet all of Holy Family’s audio system needs while giving them more control.
